As many of you know, New Mozart has been supporting Music in the Schools Foundation for many years.
If you're not already familiar with this amazing organization, check them out here: http://www.musicintheschools.org/. MIS was founded by a group of music teachers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of children in an under-served community right next to where we live.
Last year alone, they have expanded their programs and reach by implementing music programs at Oaks Academy and Willow Oaks School. At the request of the superintendent of the Ravenswood School District, Maria de la Vega, MIS hopes to reach another school in the district and implement after school music offerings.
The chair of Music in the Schools Foundation, Virginia Fruchterman has asked the New Mozart Community if we can help.
There are a couple of ways in which you can help:
- Become a board member if you'd like to roll up your sleeves and make a real difference in the lives of children in an under-served community. More board members are needed to help raise additional funds to support their expanding programs!
- Make a donation. To make a donation, go to MIS' website here: http://www.musicintheschools.org/donate.html.
If you can help, please contact us at the office and we will get you connected to Virginia Fruchterman, chair of the Music in the Schools Foundation, and Christine Shin, director of New Mozart School of Music.
We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to ensure that not only New Mozart Children but ALL children can make music.
